Dave Shaeffer Jr.

2009 has been a break-out year for David Shaeffer Jr. Already a 5-time ATA All-American, David has captured the hearts and minds of thousands of trapshooting fans by turning in one of the most incredible performances in the sport’s history.

From June 20th thru August 20th 2009; Dave ran more than 2160 consecutive singles program targets without a miss—becoming only the third person in the ATA’s history to break the 2000 target mark. This incredible streak began during the singles championship at the Pennsylvania State Shoot and has continued all summer—through the Grand American, where David ran 700 straight singles program targets, plus 550 consecutive shoot off targets to capture the biggest trophy in all of trapshooting—the Clay Target Championship. In the process, David ran 100 straight from the back fence, to capture the Nitro 27 Handicap championship, and complete his first Grand American Grand Slam.

David currently shoots a Silver Seitz and Remington shells.
He is transitioning to a full-time instructor and coach—teaching clinics all over the country.
